Stock Market update -Mar 29th

The market dropped this week, giving back the gains from the prior week. Earnings will probably drive market direction in the coming weeks, but the market is looking like its starting to lose some steam.

If you're a short term trader, the 20MA on the S&P500 is now trending down, and the chart also shows a small double top. The 50MA still has an upward slope though (for the longer term traders).

Stock Market update -Mar 22nd

We got a nice Fed rally this week, the opposite of what most people expected. The US Dollar pulled back, while Gold and Bonds rallied. Looks like we'll close out the quarter on a high if the rally continues next week, and there's no indication that it won't. The Biotech sector (IBB) continues on its somewhat parabolic move up.

The Small Caps (IWM) closed the week at an all time high! As did a number of DOW components (see below). The Nasdaq is close to taking out its 15 year high.
AAPL is now in the DOW (though it did not reach an all time high this week), and AT&T is now out of the DOW.
Things are still stirring up in Europe with the financial issues in Greece.

Stock Market update -Mar 15th

The market continued to lose ground this week and could be signaling a bigger correction -only time will tell. The Fed meeting this week will likely be the catalyst for the next move (up or down). The US Dollar continues to rise, as the Euro, Oil, Gold, and commodities continue to fall. The Euro is now trading near 1.04 vs. the Dollar!

DIS hit another all time high, as did HUM -both Dow stocks. DD and UNH are approaching all time highs too.
AAPL finally announced their new watch, and also got included in the Dow, but the stock dropped. Lots of disappointed investors!

The market rolled over this week on Friday after the monthly Jobs report was released. The Unemployment rate came in at 5.5%. Everything dropped -stocks, bonds, gold... Only the US Dollar was up. This could be the start of a bigger downturn in stocks.

Stock Market update -Mar 1st

The market rally cooled off a bit this week after hitting more all time highs. I continue to believe that this very long rally won't take a breather until the NASDAQ exceeds its all time high from the year 2000 (15 years ago!).
