Stock Market update -Jun 21

We got a bit of a comeback rally from the huge prior week drop, but with the trend dropping as the week closed out. The Fed announced even more programs to prop up weaker companies, and Robinhood traders continue to make the news as driving a lot of the gains in beaten down companies, even companies that have filed for bankruptcy like HTZ. We live in interesting times...

Stock Market update -Jun 14

The market did a huge drop on Thu after the Fed made had their meeting on Wednesday. The media blamed the drop on an increasing number of Covid cases. Funny how those cases only became important after the Fed meeting -regardless, the market dropped -no one ever really knows why.
We also saw the Nasdaq close above 10000 for the first time.
We have another Fed event this Wednesday.

Stock Market update -Jun 7

The big market even this week was the rally on the Jobs report on Friday, where the numbers were shockingly the opposite of what was expected by all the 'experts'.  BTW, the BLS noted that there was an error in the calculation (by about 5 million!), but few people noticed. We saw about a 200 point swing from low to high in the S&P futures this week. Bonds dropped this week!

Stock Market update -May 31

Mostly flat this 4 day week after we got a weekend pop on Sun/Mon night. The Nasdaq 100 closed near the all time highs, recovering pretty much all the losses from the Coronavirus pandemic selloff! If we push higher this week, we will probably see 3100 on the SPX.

Lots of divergence on the indexes, with the Nas100 near all time highs, while the Small Caps and broader NYA are still struggling near a recovery of only 50%.

Bonds & Gold were still sort of in a trading range, and Oil continued to recover a  bit higher.
