Stock Market update -Oct 16th

The market was down for the week, flirting with the Sep 9th lows in the S&P 500. Next week's earnings will probably provide more volatility... The S&P 500 has been unable to make new highs since August, with the 50MA now starting to slope downward. Lots of earnings from DOW companies next week, followed by big tech names the week after.

Bonds dropped...
The Euro, the Pound, and others dropped as the Dollar rallied

Stock Market update -Oct 9th

Another week of indecision in the markets as we hover around 2150 on the S&P 500. The Jobs report didn't really move the markets, nor did the 'flash crash' in the British Pound, or any other global events. We have earnings from some of the big banks late next week, followed by earnings from most of the large companies over the next couple of weeks -could influence the market in one direction or the other.

Stock Market update -Oct 2nd

We closed out the week, and the quarter with a bang! The Duetsche Bank scare on Thursday seemed to totally reverse on Friday. I don't think we've heard the last of this though. Should be a quiet week to start off the quarter, with the Jobs report due on Friday as a potential market event.

We also have Google's big event this week where they will announce new phones as well as other new products.

Stock Market update -Sep 25th

This was the big week for the Fed, but was really uneventful for the market. The S&P 500 got back above the Friday Sep 9th drop, while the Nasdaq got above it a week ago, and is now at a new all time high! Next week marks the end of the Quarter, and I suspect we'll close out with a nice gain, as funds maybe pile in for window dressing.

Bonds rallied, Gold rallied, as did Oil (though it pulled back on Friday).

This week TWTR rallied on takeover rumors. ADBE FDX, RHT, popped on earnings
WFC dropped on consumer fraud news, FB dropped on false ad info...

Stock Market update -Sep 18th

Stocks tried to recover from the pre-911 sell-off, but some indexes did, and some didn't. The NASDAQ  fully recovered mainly because of the huge rally in AAPL, while the S&P500 and DOW remained at the low. Next week's big potential market moving event will be the Fed announcements on Wednesday, regarding an Interest rate hike, as well as the Bank of Japan's announcement.

This week AAPL rallied... as did INTC
DB dropped, while WFC continued it slide. ORCL dropped on earnings

Stock Market update -Sep 11th

Wow! The market sold off on Friday... after two months of no movement, and with no warning.

Some say it was the Fed, some say it was Draghi, some say it was ahead of the 911 weekend, but no one really knows -it just happened, so just trade it!

This week saw Stocks drop, and Bonds drop as well. We also saw AAPL drop after the new iPhone announcement. We'll see if we get a bounce next week ahead of Friday's Quarterly Options expirations.

Stock Market update -Sep 4th

The market was mostly unchanged for the week and for the month! We continue in a sideways, low volatility pattern in the S&P 500. Maybe we'll see some more movement in September. Bonds were down a bit, while Gold and Oil tried to recover.

Still looking for SPX to hit 2200, and for the IWM to finally get to an all time high, like the rest of the indexes (below) -the NYA too. The market is closed on Monday.
